Weekly Reminder

Next week the only clubs that are continuing are for those children who have compulsory Vietnamese language club. All other clubs are now finished. All other lessons are as normal so please bring your normal school things.

On Friday, Ms Ellie and I will be judging the class speech competition so please make sure you are prepared and ready. The homework next week will once again be speech competition homework and we are both looking forward to hearing the ambitions of everyone in Year 4. Those winners from our class competition will then be speaking in the MP2 speech competition on the following Thursday.

Weekly Reminder

Next week is normal week for 4T. All lessons will be as normal but there are some change to clubs. On Monday there will be no Music clubs from Mr Jon and also Mr Rob's basketball club is cancelled too.

IPC Entry Point

On Wednesday, the children in Year 4 all enjoyed their entry point to the new IPC topic 'Fashion'. After Ms Jules taught them about how different photos can have different poses and camera angles, all the children grouped up to work on creating their own images. It was a fun way to get started with our new topic. We will move on to learn about how clothes have changed through time and think about the materials clothes are made from.

Healthy Snacks Only

All of the teachers in MP2 have noticed that many children are bringing in sugary snacks into school. This must not continue. At break time our school provides a fruit snack for children that is healthy. If you would like a different snack to eat at break time then you must make sure you bring in a healthy one. This could be fruit or vegetables or perhaps seaweed. There should be little or no sugar in the snacks. Carrot sticks, raspberries or strawberries would make a great snack for a break time if you do not like the fruit in school. Any children that bring in sugary unhealthy snacks to eat at break time will be told to keep the snack in their bag and eat it at another time and not at school.

Long Hai Day 2

This morning started early with some children waking up before the teachers! (Perhaps this shouldn't have been a surprise!) Everyone had plenty to eat and then it was time to make our way down to the beach. Each of the groups enjoyed all the activities and fun was had by all.

After lunch it was off to C block to complete a construction challenge to build a marble run with only newspaper, card and some tape. Every group showed brilliant team work and perseverance. Surprisingly, there were two teams with the same winning time of 5.75seconds. Well done to Quoc Vinh & Suri and Bao Van & Risa for constructing such excellent marble runs.

The sporty part of the afternoon was spent on the football pitch playing kick rounders. Congratulations to 4X who just beat 4T after the third innings. The teachers were most impressed with how quickly the teams learned the new game and played together, and how they were starting to think tactics and communicate more.

We are all about to go for our tea and then enjoy our last night here with a movie before bed. Year 4 will be getting on the bus tomorrow at 10:30 and we expect to be back at TX around 12:30. Parents please come to collect your children at 12:30 from TX.

Long Hai Day 1

This year the Year 4 Long Hai trip got off to an amazing start with the quickest bus journey yet. It took just 2 hours to arrive at the resort and everything was ready for us. After having plenty of sandwiches for lunch we set off to the beach for a short walk, play and finally sand castle building. All of the children enjoyed the competition and worked well together to build some fantastic castles. We know Mr Ian will have a difficult time judging them later.

Once the competition was completed, we moved into the resort pool for a swim and some pool games. We were amazed at how good the children were at swimming and some even beat us in underwater races!

As we write this all the chn are getting their rooms ready for 'inspections' and also preparing for a bonfire and hopefully some roasted marshmallows too! We will update the class blogs after everyone has gone to sleep. Until then check out the gallery of shots below.

So our day is done and all the children are in bed with their lights out and we can only hear the distant sound of the sea nearby. Luckily, the bonfire had burned down just enough for us to raost marshmallows and they were seriously tasty! Below is another slide show of more action from the day. Night night all!
