Buddy Reading

As this week has been all about brilliant books, we met our buddies to snuggle up and read. It was wonderful to see our buddies and enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate and and share a marshmallow whilst reading stories to each other.

Brilliant Books

These last few days have been all about 'Brilliant Books'. The children really enjoyed the enthusiasm and story telling of the two authors. They ensured everyone laughed and became excited about reading books. I was very impressed with Yegor and Kevin and their acting skills.

Target Achieved

A big well done to Khanh Nhu and Billy who have achieved their first targets and will be thinking about their new targets now.

Weekly Thunk

At home or at school write an answer and comment below. Remember to always say if you agree or disagree with another answer. Don't worry - all the questions have no wrong or right answer. Be brave and tell the world what you think! Write your name on every post on the wall.

If you could take medicine that would make you never fail, would you?

Brilliant Books

"Swap old stories for new adventure "

What ?   A book swap . A book swap is an exchange of books. It's a nice way to refresh your collection and give a second life to unwanted books. On collection day, for each book brought to school, a token will be given. Children, parents, teachers, staff members will be able to use their token in exchange for books on the swap day.

When ? The swap will happen on Thursday October 8th, but before that date, we need some help from parents to collect the books, give the tokens, sort out the books and finally run the stalls on the event day.

How can I help ?

1    Donate books, but remember they have to be in good condition; damaged books will be refused. All kind of books, even in foreign languages (Korean, French, German, Vietnamese etc...), for kids, for adults etc..
Help to sort and categorise the donated books.
Run the stalls on the day of exchange in the foyer.

So please consider signing up to contribute to the school community. If you drop/pick up your child from school, come a bit earlier and receive the books and give the tokens in exchange. On the swap day, come earlier, help set up the "swap library" and help run the exchange. It will take place during school hours.

Please sign up online http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4dafaa29a4ff2-book or in the foyer on the Parents Info board.

Thank you for your time and help. We hope to see a lot of books and parents at this event to share the love of reading :)

Weekly Reminder

Next week is a very busy week as it will be Brilliant Books! On Monday there will be a book character parade. Please come to school dressed up as your favourite character. Bring a change of clothes to get changed afterwards if you wish to do so. As it was last year, all the classes will have parade around the gym and there will be prizes for the best costumes. All the teachers in MP2 will be dressing up as pirates from the famous story Treasure Island. The parade begins at 8:30 in the gym.

Monday is also the time when we will be visiting the book fair in the TX library. Children will spend a short time looking at all of the books for sale and then they are able to go back to the library after school to purchase books with their parents.

How am I going to get better?

How am I going to write better is a question that I want all children in 4T to be able to answer. We will all be working towards our targets and I would like to say a really big well done to Po who achieved his first writing target this week. Keep working towards your targets 4T and we will all be better writers.
