MP2 Christmas Decorations

MP2 had such a great time making Christmas decorations on Monday afternoon. Thank you so much to all of the mums and other helpers that came in to support the children. Risa's mother, Mrs Ezuka, deserves a special mention for all her hard work in preparing the event. Without all that hard work, the decoration making would not have happened. Thank you so much.

Heart Rate Investigation

To end the Science topic ‘Moving and Growing’, on Tuesday 4T planned, carried out and evaluated an investigation on what happens to our heart rate as we exercise. The children worked in pairs to investigate, with the roles of ‘skipper’ and ‘timer’. The skipper had to skip for 5 minutes and take their pulse for 15 seconds after every one minute of skipping. In this practical activity the children explored how their bodies work and concluded that as you exercise your heart beats faster to carry oxygen to your muscles.

These last few days have been all about 'Brilliant Books'. The children really enjoyed the enthusiasm and story telling of the two authors. They ensured everyone laughed and became excited about reading books. I was very impressed with Yegor and Kevin and their acting skills.

Brilliant Books

"Swap old stories for new adventure "

What ?   A book swap . A book swap is an exchange of books. It's a nice way to refresh your collection and give a second life to unwanted books. On collection day, for each book brought to school, a token will be given. Children, parents, teachers, staff members will be able to use their token in exchange for books on the swap day.

When ? The swap will happen on Thursday October 8th, but before that date, we need some help from parents to collect the books, give the tokens, sort out the books and finally run the stalls on the event day.

How can I help ?

1    Donate books, but remember they have to be in good condition; damaged books will be refused. All kind of books, even in foreign languages (Korean, French, German, Vietnamese etc...), for kids, for adults etc..
Help to sort and categorise the donated books.
Run the stalls on the day of exchange in the foyer.

So please consider signing up to contribute to the school community. If you drop/pick up your child from school, come a bit earlier and receive the books and give the tokens in exchange. On the swap day, come earlier, help set up the "swap library" and help run the exchange. It will take place during school hours.

Please sign up online http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4dafaa29a4ff2-book or in the foyer on the Parents Info board.

Thank you for your time and help. We hope to see a lot of books and parents at this event to share the love of reading :)
